Part Time Faculty in Digital Design

The Department of Architecture at the University of Nicosia invites applications for a part-time, unranked teaching position in Digital Design, commencing Fall 2025. The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in computational design, digital fabrication, and 3D modeling.
This teaching-focused role includes involvement in the department’s Digital Fabrication Lab (ARC F-LAB) and related academic initiatives. The initial appointment is for the 2025–2026 academic year, with potential for renewal. Fluency in English is required, as all instruction is delivered in English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in digital and computational design, including parametric modeling, algorithmic design, and digital fabrication workflows.
  • Studio & Lab Engagement: Contribute to design studios and hands-on workshops; guide students in using Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper, and support development of fabrication-oriented studio projects.
  • Lab Involvement: Collaborate with ARC F-LAB, supervising student projects involving laser cutting, CNC milling, and 3D printing.
  • Departmental Collaboration: Participate in events and projects that enhance academic and industry engagement, including exhibitions and fabrication competitions.
Required Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Architecture or a closely related field (PhD is a plus but not required).
  • Teaching Experience: Proven experience teaching architecture/design at university level, particularly in digital design, computational workflows, or fabrication.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Hands-on experience in digital fabrication (laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC).
    • Advanced 3D modeling skills.
    • High proficiency in Rhinoceros 3D and Grasshopper.
  • Language: Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio of relevant design work or supervised student projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with hands-on making and digitally fabricated outcomes.
  • Interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and academic innovation.

Employment Details

  • Type: Part-time (hourly or semester-based contract).
  • Duration: Fall 2025 semester, with possible renewal for Spring 2026.
  • Remuneration: Commensurate with qualifications and experience, per University of Nicosia part-time faculty scales.
  • Facilities: Access to the ARC Fabrication Lab (F-LAB) and other department resources.
  • Environment: A dynamic, studio-centered architecture program with a strong focus on digital design and fabrication, including the MSc in Computational Design and Digital Fabrication.
