School Administrator, School of Life and Health Sciences

This role involves supporting administrative activities, project management and coordinating various tasks within the School.  The individual will work closely with the Dean and other faculty, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. The position reports directly to the Dean of the School.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Management

 
  • Organize and monitor timelines, milestones, and deliverables for ongoing and new initiatives.
  • Track project progress, address potential issues, and propose solutions to keep activities on schedule.
  • Communicate regularly with academic staff, administrative colleagues, and external stakeholders regarding project updates.

Administrative Support


  • Oversee day-to-day operations within the School, including documentation and record-keeping.
  • Assist with budgeting, procurement, and financial tracking in collaboration with the School’s administrative team.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and relevant documentation for meetings or accreditation reviews.

Coordination of Activities


  • Schedule and coordinate events, seminars, visits and workshops.
  • Facilitate communication among various departments within the School to ensure alignment of goals.
  • Serve as a central contact for inquiries, directing them to the appropriate unit or individual.

Reporting Structure


This position reports directly to the Dean of the School and collaborates with department leaders, faculty, and administrative personnel.

 

Qualifications:


Education


A bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Project Management, or    another relevant discipline). A graduate degree or equivalent experience in health-related sector is advantageous.


Professional Experience


At least two years in a coordination, administrative, or project management role. Previous involvement within a higher education or research environment is preferred.


Skills and Competencies


  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capacity to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with stakeholders from various academic backgrounds, and external stakeholders (industry, government).

Technical Proficiency


 Proficiency in office productivity software, particularly Microsoft Office (Excel, MS Word).

  • Comfort with collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom).
  • Basic understanding of data analytics or data visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with project management platforms would be desirable.
