The University of Nicosia invites applications for UNIC Athens Campus for the role of Finance Officer. This position plays a vital role in the daily financial operations of the campus, including managing student financial transactions, handling institutional accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Financial Management:
- Handle student registrations and manage financial transactions, including tuition fees and scholarships.
- Update student payment records and provide support in payment collection efforts.
- Communicate with students to resolve financial matters and inquiries.
Accounting Operations:
- Record and manage financial transactions, including payables and entries.
- Invoice/myDATA digital bookkeeping processes and store financial documents. Manage bank transactions and reconciliations.
- Handle tax and social insurance obligations per national regulations.
- Record and manage university financial transactions, including receivables, payables, and entries.
Banking and Tax Compliance:
Oversee and prepare bank transactions and reconciliations. Prepare tax, insurance, and labor statutory forms. Handle tax and social insurance obligations according to national regulations.
Reporting and System Oversight:
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc administrative and financial reports.
- Maintain and manage payroll and accounting systems to ensure data accuracy and completeness.
- Support audit processes and produce the necessary documentation.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A master's degree will be considered an additional advantage
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably within an educational institution.
Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, including Greek Accounting Standards & IFRSs, tax regulations, and fiscal compliance practices.
- Proficient in ERP software (e.g. SAP), with strong skills in MS Excel.
- Fluent in both Greek and English.
