UNIC Athens, the University of Nicosia's academic and research base in Greece, combining internationally ranked teaching with state-of-the-art facilities, is inviting applications from individuals interested in full-time faculty appointments at its School of Life and Health Sciences for the following fields to support the MPharm programme:
- Pharmaceutical Analysis & Quality Control (Assistant Professor)
- Medicinal Chemistry (Assistant Professor)
- Pharmacology/Clinical Pharmacology (Assistant Professor)
- Molecular Pharmacology (Professor or Associate Professor)
- Pharmacognosy (Assistant Professor)
Successful candidates will contribute to teaching, research, and service in this area, supporting the development of future pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning
The successful candidate will:
- Design and deliver lectures, laboratory sessions and
- Develop laboratory classes that train students in practical skills,
- Participate in OSCEs and other competence-based assessments, where appropriate.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the pharmacy curriculum.
- Supervise undergraduate research projects and, over time, MSc/PhD students in relevant areas.
Research and Innovation
- Support the University’s priority research goals focusing on AI-driven, personalised, and longevity-oriented healthcare and participate in cross-disciplinary collaborations that integrate pharmaceutical sciences with AI, data analytics, and healthcare innovation.
- Seek national and international funding (e.g. Horizon Europe, national agencies, industrial contracts).
- Publish in peer-reviewed journals and present research at scientific conferences.
Service & Academic Leadership
- Engage with industry, regulatory bodies and professional organisations to foster partnerships, placements and collaborative projects.
- Contribute to quality assurance, accreditation processes and academic administration of the programme.
- Contribute to module coordination, curriculum design and programme evaluation.
- Participate in relevant School and University committees.
- Support student advising, mentoring and outreach activities at UNIC
Qualifications:
- All candidates must hold a PhD in their respective field
- Evidence of high-level teaching and scholarly work
- Demonstrated expertise in the respective field, evidenced by οriginal publications in international refereed journals, books and conference proceedings.
- First degree in Pharmacy or a related discipline is highly desirable
- Evidence of research activity, including participation in projects, grants or industry collaborations.

Experience:
- For the Senior Faculty (Professor or Associate Professor) position in Molecular Pharmacology, candidates must demonstrate at least seven years of autonomous higher education teaching experience and/or research activity following award of the doctorate; for all other positions, a minimum of three years of such experience is required.

The Department of Health Sciences offers nine accredited health-related study programmes under one umbrella. Specifically, it provides three undergraduate programmes in Pharmacy (Integrated Master, 5 years, 300 ECTS), Bachelor Degrees in Physiotherapy and Nursing, three Master’s programmes (MSc in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, MSc in Drug Regulatory Affairs, and MSc in Applied Clinical Practice in the Community Pharmacy); and three Doctoral programmes (PhD in Physiotherapy, PhD in Nursing, and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences).
