Part Time Faculty in Sports Science - UNIC

The Department of Life Sciences of the University of Nicosia invites applications for one part-time faculty position in the discipline of Sport Science for the module of Basketball Teaching. The positions are for the Fall 2026 and the Spring 2027 semesters.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include teaching the course “Basketball Teaching”.  This is a course offered to the students of the BSc Sports Science programme. From this module the students must learn about the principles of Basketball and how to effectively organize and administer Basketball Teaching/Training sessions for youth academies, the school environment and beginner basketball players. This module also focuses on basketball teaching and the relevant material covered in public schools (gymnasium and lyceum) as the students must also acquire the required knowledge for potential employment in the public schools of Cyprus.

Qualifications:

• Candidates should hold at least a Master’s degree in Sports Science, or closely related field
• Evidence of effective teaching in Greek
• Autonomy in developing and organizing the material to support students’ learning.

Additional Qualifications (will be considered as advantageous):

• Undergraduate and Graduate level teaching experience
• Professional experience in the same field
