The Department of Health Sciences invites applications for a Laboratory Technician position to begin on Fall 2024
The Laboratory Technician will support the everyday activities of Pharmacy program. The successful candidate will ideally have experience in a laboratory environment or be willing to undertake relevant training.
Job Description
- Keep a database of the lab equipment and its consumables
- Maintain a service log of the equipment
- Scheduling for practical sessions and lab staff
- Overall budget supervision
- Equipment Maintenance
- Taking quotations for consumables and fixed assets
- Order consumables
- Prepare the labs for teaching as directed by the teaching staff
- Follow methodologies and protocols in experimental tasks
- Adhere to correct procedures, policies and health/safety guidelines
- Provide administrative assistance related to the lab needs
Academic Qualifications
Candidates need to hold a BSc degree in Biological Sciences or Chemistry.
Job-specific skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek
- Experience user of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, TeamSite).
- Very good verbal communication and writing ability in Greek and English
