Senior Researcher with Web3 Technical Expertise (For Ripple's UBRI Grant, Remote)

The University of Nicosia is seeking a talented, ambitious, and results-driven full-time Senior Researcher with strong technical expertise to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Computer Science or a related field and will be responsible for both leading research initiatives and managing technical operations under Ripple's University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI) grant.


Research Responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Manage and administer blockchain validators for XRP and the XRPL EVM Sidechain.
  • Develop decentralized applications (dApps) to create MVPs or to validate research outcomes.
  • Extend the capabilities of the Blockchain Benchmarking Framework.
  • Lead the design and implementation of NFT minting processes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript etc.
  • Working experience in DevOps environments.
  • Experience with Docker.
  • Proven experience in blockchain technology and related research.
  • Strong understanding of consensus protocols and their applications.
  • Familiarity with running validator nodes.

Additional Qualifications:

The following qualifications will be considered an advantage:
  • Web3 experience in building decentralized applications (dApps).
  • Experience with NFT development and smart contract programming.
  • Proven experience in the XPR Ledger.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Desire to keep up with modern research in blockchain systems.
  • Self-motivated and able to tackle challenging, complex problems in an individual or team-based setting.
  • You have an innate curiosity about Web3, NFTs, and the Blockchain space.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and high-quality output.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
