Research Assistant/Associate for Funded Healthcare Intervention Programme

The successful candidate will assist senior researchers in implementing a project aimed at enhancing healthcare services for the LGBTQ+ community in Cyprus. This will involve conducting comprehensive needs assessments, utilising both qualitative and quantitative research methods to gather crucial data and supporting general project-related administrative and operational tasks. This job is a fixed-term position for 24 months (2years).


Research and Project Management

  • Collaborate with the research team to prepare, conduct, and analyse research involving a variety of methodologies (both qualitative and quantitative).
  • Support the design and execution of research activities, including but not limited to stakeholder workshops, focus groups, surveys, training sessions, etc.
  • Help to analyse and present qualitative data using thematic analysis and quantitative data using SPSS software.
  • Draft initial reports on research findings for review by senior researchers, ensuring clarity and comprehensibility.
  • Conduct focused literature reviews to support the project’s evidence base related to LGBTQ+ health disparities.

Dissemination and Communication


  • Draft high-quality academic reports and articles summarising research findings for publication and broader dissemination.
  • Collaborate with team members to propose and implement strategies for promoting research findings, maximising community engagement, and increasing overall impact.


General

  • Maintain knowledge of best practices in research ethics and ensure compliance throughout all project phases.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, contributing ideas and insights for project advancement.
  • Execute additional tasks as required to support the successful delivery of project objectives.

 

Academic Qualifications


  • A BPharm or MPharm degree is essential; familiarity with mixed research methods, pharmacy service provision, and software tools such as SPSS and NVivo is critical. A Master’s in relevant fields such as Pharmacy Practice, Clinical Pharmacy, Public Health, or Social Pharmacy is desirable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex information clearly to various audiences. Experience in publicising research outcomes in different formats (reports, publications, presentations) is advantageous.
  • Effective relationship-building skills, enabling the formation of strong working connections with colleagues and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in utilising standard software packages for data analysis and project management.

 

Experience


  • Hands-on experience in qualitative research methodologies, with an advantage for those who have worked on mixed methods projects encompassing both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • A high degree of attention to detail to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data sets.
  • Demonstrated capability to manage diverse tasks and priorities effectively, often in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proven track record of working independently and collaboratively within a team to achieve project outcomes.

Job-specific skills 


  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek
  • Experience user of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, TeamSite).
