The University of Nicosia invites applications for UNIC Athens Campus for the role of Information Technology Officer. This role focuses on providing high-quality technical support to end users and ensuring the smooth operation of the campus’s IT systems and services.
Key Responsibilities:
End-User Support and Training
- Provide timely and effective technical support to staff, faculty, and students.
- Assist users in resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Offer basic training and guidance to help users make the best use of available technology tools and systems.
Technology Maintenance and Configuration
- Maintain and support computers, printers, and other IT equipment.
- Perform basic network configurations, such as setting IP addresses and network masks.
- Install and update operating systems and applications as needed.
- Monitor and maintain system performance to ensure reliable operations.
Cybersecurity and Policy Compliance
- Follow and support implementation of IT security and data protection policies.
- Ensure that all systems comply with university-wide IT standards.
Vendor Liaison and Procurement
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for equipment, maintenance, and support needs.
- Assist in specifying and purchasing IT-related equipment and services.
Reporting and Documentation
- Maintain documentation of IT systems, procedures, and user support requests.
- Provide feedback and suggestions for service improvements
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Professional Certification will be considered an advantage.
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in IT support or a similar technical role.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to perform basic network configuration (IP address and subnet setup) for computers and networking appliances.
- Familiarity with Windows and macOS environments, Microsoft Office, and standard IT tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Fluency in Greek and English (both written and spoken).
