The University of Nicosia seeks a Research Assistant for its School of Law, who will be responsible for carrying out duties relevant to research, program development, funding applications, inter-university relations and community and external outreach of the School of Law. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of press releases, working papers, policy papers, funding applications, program development papers, and carry out research work and in general assist for the further growth of the School of Law. The successful candidate should either have a bachelor's and a Master’s degree in law, political science, international relations, European studies, sociology, or a bachelor’s and Master’s degree in artificial intelligence, new technologies or related field and should be fluent in both Greek and English. We are looking for someone who is self-directed and thrives working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, in which expectations are high both for the quality and speed of work.
Responsibilities:
- Interact effectively with the office of the Dean of the School of Law and faculty members of the School of Law.
- Conduct research and prepare research material under the instructions of the Dean of the School of Law.
- Carry out communications and participate in meetings, assisting the office of the Dean of the School of Law.
- Enhancing the research activities and outreach of the School of Law, including the preparation of working papers, funding applications and written material.
- Develop quality press releases and articles and deliver them effectively and in strict timeframes.
- Be actively involved in university outreach activities.
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in law, politics, international relations, European studies, sociology, artificial intelligence, new technologies, or related field is required. Additional academic qualifications will be considered a plus.
Personal Characteristics:
- Demonstrated experience in academic work and experience in research and a track record of carrying out work and implementing projects relevant to the aims of the School of Law will be positively evaluated.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Greek. Knowledge of additional languages will be considered a plus.
- Strong management skills, with attention to deadlines and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities concurrently.
