UNIC Athens, the University of Nicosia's academic and research base in Greece, combining internationally ranked teaching with state-of-the-art facilities, is inviting applications for an Alumni Relations Manager to join its team.
The successful candidate will design and implement the alumni relations strategy for UNIC Athens, build a strong and active alumni community, and develop programmes that connect graduates with each other, with industry, and with the university’s mission. He/she will operate across strategy and execution, manage alumni data and digital platforms, design engagement initiatives and events, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to build a vibrant, high-performing alumni ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy and Planning:
Community Building and Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with alumni across disciplines, sectors, and career stages.
• Establish and manage an Alumni Advisory Group to support institutional goals, volunteerism, and industry linkages.
• Develop structured alumni participation models for mentoring, guest lectures, student support, and campus activities.
• Develop regional and thematic alumni networks, including professional clusters and special-interest groups.
Events, Programmes and Networking:
• Design and execute a high-quality annual calendar of alumni events: reunions, networking sessions, panel discussions, and professional workshops.
• Coordinate alumni involvement in career events, admissions activities, and student experience initiatives where appropriate.
• Ensure excellence in event planning, production, communication, and post-event engagement follow-up.
• Build partnerships with industry, professional associations, and community organisations to support alumni programming.
Digital Platforms, Communications and Content:
• Manage alumni communications (newsletters, email updates, digital communities, social presence), ensuring bilingual Greek/English execution.
• Oversee alumni CRM and database systems, ensuring data accuracy, segmentation, and analytics reporting.
• Produce content that highlights alumni achievements, professional journeys, and opportunities for involvement.
• Enhance digital touchpoints, including alumni website sections, online platforms, and community spaces.
Data, Insights and Partnerships:
• Build and maintain a comprehensive alumni database with robust data capture and management practices.
• Generate quarterly dashboards and insights on alumni engagement, event participation, and digital activity.
• Collaborate closely with academic units, Career Services, Admissions, and External Relations to integrate alumni initiatives with broader institutional priorities.
• Foster strategic partnerships that expand opportunities for alumni and strengthen UNIC Athens’ presence in professional ecosystems.
Alumni Fundraising and Donations
• Design and launch an Alumni Fundraising and Donations program for UNIC Athens, with annual targets and KPIs, aligned with Greek and EU regulations.
• Build donation infrastructure and processes (bilingual giving pages, secure payment gateways and bank transfers, receipting and acknowledgments, in coordination with Finance, Legal, and IT.
• Plan and deliver an annual fundraising calendar and products.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Education Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• A master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
Experience:
• 7+ years of experience in alumni relations, community engagement, stakeholder management, external relations, or similar roles.
• Proven success designing and executing engagement programmes, networks, and events.
• Experience with CRM systems, alumni/member databases, and analytics-driven engagement.
• Working experience in higher education or membership-based organisations is highly desirable.
• Strong bilingual capability: excellent Greek and professional English.
