The University of Nicosia invites applications for the role of Senior Laboratory Technician – Food Chemistry / Food Technology to join its multidisciplinary research team at UNIC Athens.
The successful candidate will contribute to research activities involving food preparation, sample processing, and extraction procedures supporting advanced biochemical and analytical studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and handle a wide range of food products and food matrices in accordance with laboratory protocols.
- Support the processing of food samples for downstream extraction and analytical procedures.
- Optimize food preparation workflows to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Assist with extraction and sample preparation activities for biochemical, proteomic, metabolomic, and lipidomic analyses.
- Maintain laboratory organization, documentation, and record-keeping.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with researchers and technical staff on multidisciplinary research projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Science, or a closely related discipline.
- Strong practical experience in the food industry, food production, food preparation, or a related environment.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in a research or laboratory environment.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to food analysis and analytical chemistry.
