The Marketing Officer contributes to existing marketing, branding, and advertising campaigns while assisting with the development of fresh initiatives in line with the organisation’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This individual plays a weighty role in communicating the university’s marketing messages.
We are seeking a self-starter, a creative individual with experience and passion to communicate the university’s brand positively and authentically. The ideal candidate must possess excellent communication skills in both Greek and English languages, as well as a keen understanding of offline and online medi environments, both in Cyprus and Greece. This role requires the ability to operate on both a strategic and tactical level, as well as to always be learning, as marketing best practices and trends shift constantly.
This role reports to the Director of Marketing and, by extension, to the Vice President of Marketing.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include ongoing day-to-day tasks, as well as specific projects. A successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Becoming a "product expert" in the education industry, understanding the relevant issues, and, working with various people in the organisation and its affiliated entities in order to develop relevant content for marketing campaigns and other purposes
- Working closely with all Marketing Department sub-unit Heads to set targets, objectives, budgets, and tactical plans to execute the necessary marketing strategies
- Coordinating Marketing/Advertising campaigns and marketing collaterals, and working with the organisation's external Advertising Agency or in-house Design team, where applicable
- Preparing, planning and project managing the creation of marketing material within deadlines so as to maximise brand value
- Creating and developing new innovative ways to communicate the university’s messages and values to the UNIC and broader community
- Contributing to the annual Marketing and Recruitment Plan and Yearly Budget
- Assisting in the development of Online Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Direct Marketing and Public Relations campaigns
- Planning and project managing marketing-related events and evaluating their success
- Evaluating the effectiveness of marketing activities
- Copywriting and proofreading in Greek and English according to the needs of publication and other projects
- Translating content to and from Greek and English as necessary
- Identifying and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and opportunities for optimisation regularly
- Staying current with new developments in marketing, social media, online marketing, SEO, competitive landscape, and other relevant fields
- Working closely with other colleagues to ensure all venues are welcoming spaces and branding is consistent
- Accomplishing organisation goals by accepting ownership for fulfilling new and different requests while exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Working closely with Recruitment and Admissions teams, and other Senior Executives at the organisation and its affiliated entities to create demand and recognition for the group and each unit's products and services
- Supporting the Director of Marketing in day-to-day marketing activities
Academic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field
- Master’s Degree will be considered an advantage

- Strong copywriting and effective brief writing skills
- Demonstrated creativity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Greek
- Experience user of Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, TeamSite), plus MailChimp
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, media associates and other stakeholders
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Strong customer service and relationship management skills
