The Department of Social Sciences of the University of Nicosia is opening a full-time position for "Practicum Officer" for the graduate programs (MSc) of Clinical, Counselling and School Psychology.

The Practicum Officer is based at the Center for Therapy, Training and Research (KESY) and works closely with the Practicum Coordinators and the Head Practicum Coordinator and KESY Director to oversee, coordinate and ensure the smooth progression of all practicum activities for the students of the MSc Programs in Clinical, Counselling and School Psychology.


Responsibilities

The main responsibilities of the Practicum Officer are:


1. Clinical Support

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for clinical concerns or crises involving trainees.
  • Conduct preliminary consultations with supervisors and site staff.
  • Keep Coordinators informed and escalate cases appropriately.

2. Educational Support

  • Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops for trainees.
  • Coordinate the scheduling and content development of training initiatives.

3. Coordination Support

  • Assist in matching trainees with available sites and supervisors.
  • Follow up on trainee probation matters and performance issues.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with sites regarding availability and concerns.

4. Administrative Support

  • Manage supervisor timesheets and ensure timely processing of payments.
  • Monitor and reconcile trainee clinical hours and documentation.
  • Coordinate scheduling for site rotations, interviews, and onboarding.
  • Identify needs for additional supervisors and assist with recruitment and onboarding.
  • Participation in team meetings of the Center for Therapy, Training and Research

Qualifications

The applicants should:

  • hold a master's in Clinical/Counselling Psychology and at least 3 years of clinical experience, or a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and at least 3 years of clinical experience
  • be registered in the Registry of Professional Psychologists to practice in the Republic of Cyprus
  • be fluent in both Greek and English.
  • Have previous experience in supervision (preferred)
