Adjunct Faculty in Civil and Environmental Engineering - UNIC

The Department of Engineering of the University of Nicosia invites applications for part‑time faculty positions in the fields of:
  • Transportation Engineering, with expertise in related areas, such as: road and highway engineering, pavement design and smart transportation planning.
  • Environmental Engineering, with expertise in related areas, such as: environmental biology and ecology, hydrology, environmental impact assessment, waste management and sustainability.
  • Construction Engineering, with expertise in related areas, such as: building construction principles, project management and health and safety in construction.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses with or without laboratory sessions. Some administrative work might be required.

The positions are for the Fall 2026 semester and may be renewed upon satisfactory performance.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and, preferably, a good publications record. The candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and research excellence. Since the language of instruction is English, the candidate must be fluent in English. More specifically, the required qualifications are:
  • A PhD in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Evidence of effective teaching in English.
  • Autonomy in developing and organizing the material to support students’ learning.
The following qualifications are highly desired and will be considered to the advantage of a candidate:
  • Graduate level teaching experience in the fields of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
  • Professional experience in the same field.
  • Strong evidence of potential for scholarly research.
